Embedded Software Technical Specialist

As Embedded Software Technical Specialist you will play a crucial role delivering complex engineering projects. You will bring your expertise to design, develop and lead the implementation of embedded systems and components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams driving innovation in the EV charging industry, mentor and assist in leading a small team of engineers, whilst ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of embedded software-based control systems, ensuring they meet project specifications, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • To assist in leading the software team, scheduling, and co-ordinating tasks, including managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and design reports, ensuring the documentation is comprehensive, accurate and organised.
  • Ensure verification and validation documents meet design requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with embedded software designs of each project.

    Key Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Embedded Software engineering or a related field.
    • Experience of automotive, aerospace, or similar safety-critical development environment.
    • The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate considerable depth of knowledge in embedded software engineering. You would need to have been operating in a role where they have provided technical leadership and/or acted as design authority.
    • You will be a competent user of embedded C.
    • Experience of Infineon Aurix and ARM Cortex-M micro-controllers.
    • Experience with RTOS and the full lifecycle of software development.
    • Experience of ASPICE, MISRA C and AUTOSAR coding guidelines.
    • Knowledge of Parasoft C/C++ test would be beneficial.
    • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
    • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
