Following a recent visit from Richard Parker, Labour candidate for West Midlands Mayor – he was back, and this time brought some shadow secretary friends with him!

Yesterday we received a visit from:

  • Ed Miliband, Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change & Net-Zero
  • Jonathan Reynolds, Shadow Secretary of State for Business & Trade
  • Richard Parker, Labour Candidate for West Midlands Mayor

It was a great opportunity to showcase how our innovative electric charging technology will revolutionise the electric vehicle sector when it launches later in 2024. During the tour the shadow secretaries talked to many members of staff who shared what they worked on and why they enjoyed working at Petalite.

There was plenty of time to talk through inter-related industry topics such as:

  • The importance of investing in STEM subjects to produce a pipeline of engineering talent to address current shortages.
  • The need for the UK investment community to have greater long termism in supporting scale ups. The requirement for a greater appetite for investing in technology businesses at scale up stage not just start up stage.
  • The need for consistency and clarity from government policy in supporting the net-zero agenda and faster execution of initiatives.
It was great to share our company vision while also providing insights into some of the challenges faced by our industry.

We are providing reliable infrastructure for our CPO customers and freedom from charge anxiety for EV drivers. Our DC fast charging solution will help speed up the transition to net zero by providing further confidence in EV infrastructure.”
