Tim O'Sullivan

Head of Development

Tim has 20+ years’ experience in electrification and automotive engineering. In the past he has worked for companies such as TVS Motor Company, Continental and Zytek.

His early career was spent developing ground breaking controllers for Electric Vehicles (EV) powertrains in Automotive, F1, Formula-E leading to industry firsts and race wins, as well as pioneering early bi-directional Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging technologies.

Later he combined his expertise in EV propulsion, to lead teams in the development of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and brake by-wire technology, and more recently he headed up a worldwide Centre of Excellence to innovate EV vehicle charging & infrastructure.

Tim has a knack of simplifying even the most complex challenges and is happiest in a fast-paced environment leading cutting edge technologies. He loves to develop technology and extract the very last bit of performance from a system, whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety.

With extensive experience of hands-on engineering and technical leadership, Tim leads the development of Petalite’s unique patented technology into market leading products for the benefit of customers and end users.

He enjoys working within Petalite’s strong small close-knit team environment, where everybody at all levels is working towards a common goal and making a difference to the outcome.
