Rob has 20+ years international experience in leadership roles gained within companies such as Continental and Zytek Automotive. He has a strong background in all aspects of hardware design. He is a visionary pioneering engineer who has set records and industry firsts across automotive, F1, Formula E and automotive electrification sectors.

Past successful projects include:

• F1 Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) for McLaren launched in 2009, said to be best on the grid at the time with innovative and efficient propulsion technology alongside an impressive reliability record.

• Formula E Powertrain design for the 3-time winner Renault e.DAMS in 2014, 15 and 16.

• Audi R8 e-tron which set a new world-record lap time at the Nürburgring and featured in the film Iron Man 3!

He has a wealth of experience and expertise in electrical and electronic engineering (with particular focus on product development) covering EV charging, powertrain and energy management.

He plays a pivotal role at Petalite building a high performance engineering team, consistently innovating and bringing new energy management and charging technology to the market. He uses his experience of designing for the automotive sector to ensure products are safe, reliable, efficient and cost appropriate in the support of decarbonising our environment.
