Our Story
We are a next generation EV charging company with a clear mission: to revolutionise electric charging technology. Based in Birmingham, UK, where we draw upon the region’s rich industrial heritage and world class engineering talent, our purpose is simple. We exist to overcome the challenges that hold our EV charging infrastructure back and build the capabilities needed for the future.
Through an extensive period in R&D, we gave ourselves the freedom to think differently and the time to reimagine a better way.
Our solutions take EV charging to the point of real change, transforming the way we travel with better EV charging technology. We are removing the charge anxiety caused by today’s infrastructure, creating the freedom to connect, work and explore sustainably.
Our Technology
We’ve been thinking several steps ahead, researching, developing, building, testing, perfecting, pushing boundaries. We created a new rapid / ultra rapid charging technology (SDC) that radically simplifies the AC-DC conversion process within DC fast chargers. The result is transformational. Revolutionary technology that allows us to create fast-charging solutions with superior reliability, scalability, modularity, availability and efficiency. However, progress never stops. Our technology will keep evolving, as we continuously reimagine the possibilities of electric charging. We believe there’s always a better way.
Our Difference
Petalite is built differently. We engineer differently. From a blank piece of paper throwing out all the rules, approaching problems in a completely new way, using the best engineering talent. Great ideas and design thinking are inspired by our open, collaborative culture and our partnerships with our customers, suppliers and leading changemakers. There’s no big company bureaucracy getting in the way. No ‘this is how we’ve always done things.’ We are driven to push the boundaries of technology and move the world forward towards a net-zero future. As evidenced by the recognition we’ve received before even launching - the investment, the grants and the awards.
